About Us
Our Pedagogy
The pedagogy of our outdoor, play-based, family-run dayhome is founded on respect, trust, and the natural curiosity of children. Through intentional outdoor play, we provide an environment that nurtures the holistic development of each child, creating opportunities for exploration, learning, and growth. We emphasize meaningful connections—both with nature and with each other—so that every child leaves our care feeling confident, creative, and ready to continue learning about the world around them.
“Encourage your kids to look for nature everywhere you go. It’s the weed breaking through the pavement, It’s the leaves forming small clumps along the side of the road. It’s the sky at any given time of the day or night. It’s the wind doing what it likes to your hair. Look around, it won’t take long to find it.”

Meet The Team
James Daniels - Owner /Operator

After a successful career in the flooring industry, I made the heartfelt decision to shift my focus toward what has always brought me the most joy—caring for children.
Whether we're exploring nature, reading stories, or building social skills through group play, I aim to help each child grow with confidence and curiosity. Helping families feel supported and children feel at home is not just my job—it’s my calling.
Shannon Daniels - Administrator

As a certified elementary teacher with a deep passion for early learning, I’ve dedicated my career to creating supportive, engaging environments where children thrive.
Supporting my husband in this journey has been incredibly rewarding. Together, we’re proud to offer a day home that feels like an extension of family—where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
Hannah Lewis - Childcare Provider

As an Elementary Teacher and Early Years Specialist in the UK, I made the move to set up my own Forest School, where I supported children and their families in using the outdoors as a rich learning environment. Just a year ago, my husband, our two young daughters, and I made the exciting move to Canada. It was here that I discovered Miffy’s in our local community, and I was thrilled to support James and Shannon in their mission to create a safe, nurturing day home that reflects my own passion for outdoor learning and child development!
